Erin and Hobbes – A Morning on the Farm
Spent the morning with Erin and Hobbes at Seoul Creek Farm in West Bend Wisconsin. A candid lifestyle story… this is the type of portrait session I love…

Kate contacted me to see if we could get together for a little portrait shoot with her and her man Nick. They have been together for a while, but are currently living in different states. Long distance relationships are tough, and they wanted some photographs together to make those times apart a little less taxing. A little reminder of how happy they are when they are together… and I have to say, these two are very happy when they are together. We met them down at the Milwaukee Art Museum a little after sunrise, and here are some of my favorites:

About two weeks ago Simon and I had the chance to work with a charming girl named Bai (pronounced “bay”). Her name is short for Bailey, but it is cool none-the-less. The young film enthusiast, future film maker said she wants to create movies that make you want to kill yourself… Not literally, but depressing type movies… She told us this when we were talking before the shoot at the Alterra Foundry. I knew after that short introduction conversation that we were going to have to be a little more gritty than some senior shoots. We headed out into the urban setting of the 5th ward of Milwaukee, WI and started shooting…
This is my take on the day. A little grit, a little urban, and a few smiles for mom…

Sometime the weather does not cooperate with you when you have an outdoor shoot. Sometimes it works out well and you are able to find someplace to shoot, and sometimes you have a little more luxury and can re-schedule. About 15 minutes into our morning shoot this morning, it started raining. In this case the couple, Vanessa and Drew, were willing to reschedule and try the shoot again later tonight. Hopefully the sun will come out and allow us to have a wonderful shoot…
Until then, here is a sneak peek, Take One, of Vanessa and Drew…
