Photo of the week | July 13 2009 | iPhone fun

I am really excited about this weeks photo. I have been waiting to get an iPhone for a long time now, and finally the time was right: My current contract expired at my old carrier, the new iPhone 3Gs came out, and a bunch of other stuff all fell into place allowing me to finally get my hands on an iPhone. Anyways, one reason I am so excited to have the iPhone is for the camera… Yes that is right, I am actually excited about a camera phone. It is kind of like one of my favorite film cameras that is made out of plastic. It is lo-fi, lo-tech, lomo goodness. And in that simplicity comes, for me, fun and freedom. There are a lot of people using the iPhone camera to create art, and I plan on doing the same. One of my favorite iPhone artists, and amazing photographer, is Chase Jarvis. One great quote straight from the man himself is this: “The best camera is the one that is with you”. So very true. So, long story short, I will now almost always have a camera with me, and one that is web enabled at that, so I will be able to share with you my iPhone creations easier than 1.2.3. – well I might need a 4 in there as well, but pretty darn easy. I will be posting my images in three locations

1. Flickr – http://www.flickr.com/photos/jake_rohde/sets/72157621319874834/

2. Twit-Pic / Twitter – http://twitpic.com/photos/jakedavidrohde   and   http://twitter.com/jakedavidrohde

3. Facebook – add me here if you want to: http://www.facebook.com/jakedavidrohde

I have a plan as well, but I can’t share that with you right now, maybe once the details are worked out, I will let you know. It is just a fun project, and by this post, you can probably guess what the project revolves around…

So with all of that said, here is this weeks photo. Straight from my new iPhone:
