Maggie – 6 days old
My wife and I had the chance to go visit our friends who were just blessed with a Christmas baby. Maggie is a couple days old and cute as all get up. Plus I am jealous of her room… so cool!

Sara and Kurt got to take a little stay-cation from work… relax, recharge and make some engagement photos! Simon and I jetted off to Madison for the shoot, and while the weather wasn’t looking so good, we risked it as there were not many other days to choose that would work with both of our schedules… so we played in the rain… and the cold. We ran around the Arboretum for a while and then when the rain picked up we headed down to State Street to duck in and under things. We ended up at the Wisconsin Capitol building when the rain and wind really started to pick up… but it held off just enough to finish up the session.
After the shoot Sara sent us home with snacks, which was awesome for the ride home. The cheesecake bites were my all time favorite.
Thank you Sara and Kurt. Here are my favorites from the session.

To try and sum up Stephanie and Kyle’s wedding in a couple words, I would have to say: Elegantly Simple. And by simple, I do not mean it was easy to put together… on the contrary, sometimes minimal simplicity is the hardest thing to pull off. But they did it, from the minimal color palette, Stephanie’s amazing dress, the suits the guys wore, right down to the locations we shot at and their final reception location at the Monona Terrace in Madison. Everything reflected their personal style so well, and you can tell, because they both had perma-smiles the whole day, fitting in to their surrounding as if they did this professionally (I assure you, they don’t. This was the first time they got married to each other… go figure).
Anyways, enough talking. Put your eyes on some of my favorite images from the day:

And I think I am going to add to my description of this wedding… Elegantly simple, with buckets and buckets of awesome! Custom shot glasses, epic party and CRAZY BOOTH!

Milwaukee is a great town for weddings, but it is always nice to venture out of Milwaukee to shoot. For Dana and Nicks wedding last year, we got to hit up the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, WI. Old theatres are great!

Oh so much fun tonight… Nick and Dana, you are awesome. Thank you for having Valo Photography as part of your wedding day!

Sarah and Kevin were married at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison Wisconsin. Here are some of my favorites from the day:
