Jayme and Drew Big Bay Park Engagement

Ashley and Evan met at Vitucci’s while Ashley was working there. She used to stand by the bar smoking and drinking. As it turns out, Evan thought this was pretty awesome, and Ashley caught his eye while he frequented the bar on the nights she worked. Turns out Ashley original thought Evan was kind of a jerk… for some reason. But as he persisted to visit her while she worked, he warmed up to her and now they are getting married. We wanted to hit up Vitucci’s to end our session together… so we started over at the Harley Davidson Museum, which ended up being an awesome spot to shoot. We were planning on heading down to the 5th ward for a bit, but we fell in love with the museum grounds, so we just stayed there. We did end up crossing the street to shoot in a parking lot (which was freaking amazing). I love when people are down for anything and trust us when we say… “We need to cross the street to shoot in that parking lot”… Simon and I saw some trees and amazing light! Which is why we wanted to go over there… not because of the parking lot. Then we ended up at Vitucci’s for a beer and to make some photographs at the bar where they first met!
Amazing light, amazing couple, and I can’t wait for their wedding so I can taste some Grandpa Fro’s Invention Farm & Country Winery Earl Grey Mead.

Recently Lisa asked if I would photograph her daughter Brooke… and I was honored. We met at Havenwoods State Forest and ran around looking at things like Uckies and Pretties (not sure on the spelling of those… I asked Brooke, but she just looked at me like I was crazy). We ended the day in the visitors center, where one of the most interesting things was the drinking fountain… who knew…
Lisa works with my wife, and I had the pleasure of meeting Rick a while back. We bonded instantly over the shared love of Tequila on ice with a splash of lime… mmmm so good. Later the same day as the shoot, we headed to Madison for the Wisconsin vs Nebraska game. While we were eating at the Nitty Gritty, Rick and I decided that the best way to get to know someone instantly is to either drink those drinks (tequila on the rocks) all night or climb a mountain past 14000 ft. Either way you will know the people you are with by the next day…
Wisconsin kicked some butt too!
Anyways, here are some of my favorites from 2 year old Brooke’s photo shoot!

One of our fantastic couples, Erinn and Andy are featured today on Style Me Pretty:
And have a whole gallery displayed:
From recording studio to random parking lot, Brandon and I rocked an epic senior session. Brandon started by playing music, but fell in love with recording it. Working and saving he slowly built up a recording studio and started Transparent Music. He is currently working with local musicians, recording and editing. We hung out at the newly finished studio for a bit before hitting the streets. Here is what we came up with:

Brandon knows Caleb… one of our street team members from last year. He wanted to honor Caleb by re-creating one of his photographs. So in honor of Caleb… here it is… the tire!

The day’s schedule was tight, and we didn’t have a lot of time for the family formals. So I set up an impromptu photo booth at the reception so we could grab a few more group shots. Whenever you mix a photo-booth with Valo, though, you always end up with a Crazy Booth!

The night started out with casual human pyramids, which quickly escalated into a more formal and much more serious round of human pyramids, ending in an epic 10 person pyramid with no one else but the bride, Gretchen, on top!
