Hey Mister! Thats my sister!
I was in Minneapolis this weekend and my sisters fiance was in from North Carolina. They are getting married later this year and we went out to take a few photos while I was up there. I will be shooting their wedding and it should be crazylotsoffun.
This was the first time I met Alex and… well… I am glad that I approve. He is a lil crazy and different, but who am I to speak? I am a lot crazy and different. These two fit well together and that makes me a happy brother. Here are just a few images that I shot.

The Orpheum, The Art Museum, and a whole lot of awesome light in Madison helped make this E-session with Nick and Dana pretty amazing. From there we went down the street to a fantastic little restaurant and took some more photos and had lunch. We said goodbye and then Jake and I went to shoot a wedding at The Orpheum.

Running around a strange town is sometimes the best as a photographer. Not knowing any locations or places, you get to look at all the great landmarks and places with fresh eyes. Nick and Dana took Jake and I around downtown Madison for their E-Session and we had a blast. Here’s a sneak peek on what I am working on.

OMG. Amazing light. Amazing people. Aaaaaaand, I am pretty sure these two are fantastic. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year.

Sometimes you shoot a session and it is tough to pick the proofs to show the couple because there are so many fantastic photos. The light was right, the couple was fantastic, and the location was great. Other then gettin up at 5 in the morning, the shoot was great. Jake is much better at early then I am. I really love shooting engagement sessions for a few reasons. One, there isn’t a ton of pressure on the photographer. Two, there isn’t a ton of pressure on the couple. And three, it gives the couple a chance to see how the photographer works and gives them an opportunity to trust that the artist is going to capture them in a flattering way.
Well, Andrew and Abby needed no help from my camera or me to be flattering. They were a great looking couple that showed up and were ready to have fun. Jake and I thought that the Third Ward would be a good place to shoot, so we met them right by the Milwaukee Public Market. From there we wandered around the streets, jumping on things, going in and out of alleys, and even jumping in fountains. There were so many opportunities to make great photographs that it was hard to whittle down this post to the size that it is (and it is still big). I am excited to shoot this couples wedding because I know it is going to be fantastic and so much fun to shoot.

Some days are great for taking photos. Other days are not so great… We scheduled Drew and Vanessa’s engagement session and Mr. Weather man told us that we should think about picking a different day. We met early in the morning hoping to get the shoot finished before the rain came out, but had no such luck. We left and planned on coming back later if the rain stopped. As the day went on, the rain tapered off and the sun came out. The weather changed for the best and the photo session was on!
We went to one of my favorite places to take photos, Havenwoods State Forest, and tromped around the fields tucked away in the middle of Milwaukee. Jake and I were having a field day with the light and the couple. They both were having a good time and so were we, which in turn, gives us great natural expressions and moments to capture. I figured since Jake posted two sneak peeks (One and Two), that I needed to as well… Here is the second take on our rained out E-session with Drew and Vanessa that we shot later in the evening. The weather was amazing and the light was perfect (even though the bugs were horrid).
