I got the honor of taking my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law’s engagement photos. They are getting married in the spring next year at the Astor hotel and it is gonna be awesome. We walked around a bit by Lakefront Brewery then went to the Third Ward for some drinks and a few more photos. It was super chilly, but they worked it, were silly, and made some photos.

Katie and Ben – E-Session
I’ve known Katie for a while, well… 2 years, so really not that long, but whateves. She is one of those people who you feel like you know forever even if you don’t. She is an awesome photographer and a super rad lady (who even says rad anymore?). When she got engaged and her and Ben had a lil sit down and chat with Jake and I about possibly shooting their wedding I was a bit giddy. I knew that she liked our stuff, but to be asked to shoot a wedding for another photographer who’s work I think is pretty great is like baking a pie for your grandma and asking her if it tastes like hers… or something like that.
Katie wanted some fall colors for the shoot and she had the perfect place as well. We went up to an island that Ben’s family has some camping property on and ran around for an afternoon/evening shooting photos. The colors were fantastic and the light was amazing. Early fall light is so good in the Midwest. So golden and so warm. We finished and hopped on the boat to get back to shore and go home. It was a super fun shoot and I could not ask for a better way to spend an afternoon then doing something I love with people who are excited about what I am doing! Love you guys!

Melissa and John – E-Session – Milwaukee
Melissa and John are super fun. For their engagement session we started out at Roots, which is a bar that they use to frequent all the time, went to the spot John proposed at, and threw around an apple (a large paper mache one fell on Johns head when they first met… super smoove?)
We had a ton of fun shooting and I can’t wait for their wedding in November!!!
