Melissa and John – E-Session – Milwaukee

Melissa and John are super fun. For their engagement session we started out at Roots, which is a bar that they use to frequent all the time, went to the spot John proposed at, and threw around an apple (a large paper mache one fell on Johns head when they first met… super smoove?)

We had a ton of fun shooting and I can’t wait for their wedding in November!!!

P.s. If your checking out this blog in Facebook, you really should check it out on the site… there are moving pictures that FB does not like to show…)

Jake and Sarah – E-Session

So… Jake and Sarah. Two awesome people who I have the honor or photographing their wedding at the Milwaukee Art Museum next year. Jake wrote a sweet post on them on his blog here:  BLOG

I can’t top what he said, so check that out for sure.

Andrea and Josh – E-Session

Oh people. I love people. I love their stories and their journeys.

Any ways… Andrea and Josh and I met up for their engagement session on a chilly Saturday morning at Grant Park. We wandered around a bit and took some photos as we talked and traded stories about breaking things. Mainly bones. I am excited to shoot their wedding next year. It’s gonna be superawesome!

Caroline and Roy – E-Session

Night Owl Engagement Session in Milwaukee Wisconsin

I love old things. I love Polaroids. I love vintage furniture. I love my Grandma. Granted, there are different levels of love (Obviously I love my G-ma a WHOLE lot more than any furniture, but whateva), but I love vintage. With old things you can see the lines and scratches. You can look at something old and know that there are so many stories behind it’s travel through time to today.

With my love of old things, Caroline and Roy’s engagement session might just be one of my favorites. I love when people get dressed up and do a shoot right. It took a little finessing to get everything in the same place at the same time, but we finally got a date for the shoot where we would have the car, the restaurant parking lot, and the shooter and shooties. We went and shot in the Night Owl parking lot right next to the Milwaukee Airport and then drove a little bit and shot by some huge power line towers. Dang… I love these photos.

Blah… enough rambling. More photos.

Amy and Buster – E-Session

I really hate cloudy days. I do. I love sunny and bright days, but in the Midwest, that is something that is few and far between. For Amy and Buster, at least the rain held off, and not only did they show up, they also worked the mess out of the cloudy day.

Jake and I love to travel to shoot weddings and, even though its not out of state, we are stoked to be going up to Door County to shoot their wedding. The trees, landscape, derelict buildings, and water make Door County a perfect place to have a wedding and photograph a wedding.

Anyoldways… We ran around the Third Ward in Milwaukee and had so much fun it should be illegal. We stopped in front of Centanni, the place they had their first kiss and ran through back alleys and used the Cream City brick as our backdrop. Check out the photos and let me know what you think!

P.s. I want to shoot a wedding in South Dakota (I know there really isn’t anything out there, but what the hey, could be cool eh?)

Sara and Tyler – E-Session

I love engagement sessions. I love them because it lets Jake and I get a chance to know the couple before all the stresses and pressures of the big day. It lets the couple get a feel for how we work and what to expect and look forward to. It also gives them one more opportunity to get some kick butt photos.

Sara and Tyler are awesome. We had one of the coolest locations ever that we had to “sneak” into (shhh…). From abandon buildings to a sweet car, we rocked Milwaukee like it hasn’t been rocked before. I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding and getting even more fantastic photos to show everyone.

P.s. In a totally un-related note, here is a sweet video of that Icelandic Volcano:
