Eric and Sally – E-Session – Milwaukee

I got the honor of taking my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law’s engagement photos. They are getting married in the spring next year at the Astor hotel and it is gonna be awesome. We walked around a bit by Lakefront Brewery then went to the Third Ward for some drinks and a few more photos. It was super chilly, but they worked it, were silly, and made some photos.

Alissa is super fun. She makes faces and is about as nuts as me, which makes taking photos difficult because someone is always laughing… oh well. We got her senior photos taken here in Milwaukee and they turned out superawesomecoolsweetandstuff.

Caitlin is awesome. I was able to take her brothers senior photos a few years back and he was awesome (probably still is). Pretty sure their parents are awesome as well.

Nicole – Trash The Dress – Milwaukee

Awe yeah. So. I got hitched. To a beautiful lady. We both partied super hard on our wedding day (Like all wedding couples should) and at the end of the night her dress was pretty dirty. Now, I know that dresses are important. They are huge! You gotta pick the right one and most ladies, when they find it, bust out in tears (Seen one to many “Say Yes To The Dress” episodes). Some dresses are very expensive. Big investment. The one thing that I don’t get though, is why are people so scared of getting it a little dirty? (Probably because I am a boy and all of our clothes get dirty no matter how fancy they are).

Anyoldways. We had a great time and Jake took awesome photos. Nicole and I chatted on our honeymoon up to Door County about doing a Trash The Dress shoot when we got back into town.

So, we got into town and a few days after, there was great weather and we were off to shoot some photos. Now, the point of a TTD is not to “Trash” the dress, but more so to put it into a situation that you wouldn’t put it in on your wedding day. I do understand trying to keep the dress kinda clean on the day of, specially before the ceremony, but after, just let loose… I digress. We ran around by the Lakefront Brewery and over by the old Pabst Brewery and took photos until it get super chilly and the sun was low in the sky. Check out what we got below.

Band – In This Room

I don’t really do much band photography, but it is always fun to do something different every now and again.

Tom is one of the guys in the band and I had the pleasure of shooting his wedding as well as the wedding of his wifes sister… I kinda feel like a second cousin now. He gave me a call, we set up a time to shoot, and then we were off. I have quite a few more shots that I love, but here are two of my favorites.

Wedding – Kevin and Sarah

Madison is crazy after a Badgers game. Not to mention when the Badgers lose. To the Hawkeyes. Granted, this was good news for Kevin and Sarah. Call it an early wedding present for the two Hawkeyes that were getting married that day in Madison.

The setting: The Orpheum

The Orpheum was a really cool venue. Really dark… but really cool. Lots of texture and lots of space. Those always make for fun photos. Jake and I went up to Madison a few hours early from Milwaukee to shoot an engagement session for Nick and Dana who are getting married at the same place next year. After the shoot we got some lunch then it was time to get our wedding shoes on. (I don’t really have wedding shoes, although I did wear pink and white chucks when shooting my cousins wedding)

There were lots of cool touches to the wedding that made it very personal and fun to shoot. Sarah had her mother and grandmothers dress on display as well as their stories for people to check out. The bouquets were made out of different herbs and smelled amazing. After they said I Do and kissed, Sarah’s dad busted out a guitar and Kevin serenaded her on the steps of the stage. It was a very warm and fun wedding to shoot even though it was chilly outside. I am so glad that we got a chance to be a part of these two Hawks special day.

Wedding – Shawn and Cassie

Oh my, oh my, oh me… Again, I can’t express how much I love shooting weddings of people who have a personal flair to everything that they do. People who infuse their personality into everything from the vows to the shoes to the drinks to the wedding party.

Shawn and Cassie’s wedding had all of their awesomeness infused into one giant day which has now turned into one giant blog post. I loved everything from the Chuck Taylors that the grooms men wore to the Crazy Booth that is going to be tough to top in 2010.

The wedding was at the Eisner Museum in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, which has tons of really great places to take photos. After the ceremony we went running around the Third Ward taking tons of photos, tripping on things, and dropping bridesmaids. (Wasn’t as fatal as it sounds) From there, the Ceremony rocked and the Crazy Booth was brought. By the end of the night I was exhausted, but had such a fun time shooting and capturing an amazing party for two amazing people. Congrats Shawn and Cassie.

Crazybooth – Shawn and Cassie

There are not many words that can describe these photos. Well… by not many, I mean none.

Oh. My. Lord. These are divine. Jowels.

Yeah… Shawn and Cassie were so much fun… pretty much love them. To be able to shoot for clients like them is a pleasure.

I know that was a mutha load of photos, but hope it was worth it.

p.s. pretty sure the booth makes the reception killer (well, your DJ betta be rockin it, but whateva)
