Diana was a lot of fun to work with. I am just now getting to editing these photos from a fun shoot that we did in November.

Jake and I went to Minneapolis this weekend to shoot a wedding and shoot a few other jobs. We had a blast and got a chance to brain storm all the way back on how to make Valo Photography better. There are a few really fun things that will be rolling out in the next few weeks that we would love to hear your feedback on, so keep checking the site or just subscribe to our RSS feeds.
I haven’t had a lot of time to edit, but here is a shot of the beautiful bride that made my job easy this weekend. We shot Bibi and Brandon on V-day in Minneapolis at the Sculpture Gardens. She was a lot of fun and we had a great time making amazing photos. Here is one quick one I edited before I ran off to my day job.

I haven’t taken photos of kids in a while. Amazingly cute, but dang… full of energy. They don’t stop and it reminded me of one of those carnival games where you throw a ball at clowns that come up, or wack-a-mole, or… well, you get the point. Anyways. I love these lil kids and it is amazing how beautiful they are. Tons of fun and full of mischief.

She had on some super cute shoes.

He was making faces the whole time we were shooting. Reminds me of me…

My absolute favorite photo of the day. I love how it is a little out of focus and very soft.

He was working the scooter like a 9-5

There was still a little snow on the ground, nasty as it was, but Ian wanted to climb all over it.
Boys will be boys.

This just makes me laugh.

It has been a while since I have shot a wedding or a senior so most of my work has been stock. I am working on getting my computer and storage cleaned up and ready for wedding season so that means I am going through a lot of older shoots, editing, deleating, and moving them. Here are a few shots from a shoot I did at Decibel/Deep Bar a few months back. My friend Kristin from Fringe Salon stopped by and did make up for the models and another friend, Stef of Star Fire Events helped me set the shoot up. Big thanks to Dustin and Decibel for letting us use his place and run around like nut cases…

Aight… here is the deal. Senior photo season is going to be kicking off pretty soon and I am super excited.
(P.s. Not Senior, like Citizen, Senior like Class of 2010)

I am going to be looking for a few seniors to rep Valo Photography and our work at their local high school.
I will be posting more info on how you can get some pretty sweet perks and awesome photos to boot. I will have more information on being a part of our Street Team on Thrusday night, so keep your eyes peeled.
Till then, I am going to post one of MY old senior photos. I found them lying around in my basement (Class of ’01 Baby!!)

So hott.
(If you have any good senior photos you want to show the world, shoot me an email with the photo to simon@valophotography.com)
I am super stoked to be working with Jake Rodhe. He is a creative guy with tons of ideas and action behind his words. We met eachother about two years ago on a Flickr walk in Milwaukee. From there I have been admiering his work from afar.
I was inspired one day and emailed a few people who’s work I love to be a part of an ongoing project. Jake was one of them. From there we discussed several things. One was our need to create and be around creative people. Working in an office environment generally does not stimulate creative thought and generally does not encourage you to be creative. We discussed starting a company together and from there the rest is history.
Jake is the stuff. Check out his blog, his sites, and leave some love in the comment section:

This past week Fuzz Martin and I hosted the Brewlypse, an istockphoto event. We had shooters from all over the Midwest and even one from Canada. It was kinda funny seeing one of the shooters from Tennessee get use to the cold weather in Wisconsin.
We were shooting different venues and models from Wednesday night till Sunday morning. I will be posting photos as I get them edited. Here are a few for you to check out.

There will be a behind the scenes video of one of the days soon! Stay tuned!
