The Valo Experience

The Valo Experience is pretty simple. We want to make your day as fun as possible, and capture images of the day as it happens. We have a good mix of casual portraits with a photo journalistic overview of the whole day. Capturing moments and details along with the casual portraits allow us to tell a story of the day. These photos can then be compiled into a hardbound album to help tell the story of your day. Our albums are all personally designed, and can include items from your wedding if you would like. Items such as personal logos, colors, or graphics can all be included in the album if the graphics are available to us to include.

What can you expect when contacting Valo Photography?

Here is a little scenario of a typical wedding from contact to the time you are holding your final images:

1. Contact Valo through our website and/or a phone call.
2. We will send you our price sheet with our packages and a la carte items listed .
3. You can follow up with us at any time to arrange a meeting or ask some questions.
4. We will spend as much time with you and your questions as you need.
5. If you want to move forward with booking Valo Photography for your wedding we will send you a contract and ask you for a 25% down payment to hold your date.
6. Once we get the contract back your date is locked in, and we can move forward with any pre-wedding items.
7. If you have selected an Engagement Session we will schedule that with you. Typically the Engagement Session is done well before the wedding, so that you can use those images for items such as Save the Date cards and slide shows at the wedding reception.
• The Engagement Session is a fun and relaxed time to capture some images of you and your significant other. You can see some examples of our Engagement Sessions in our Portfolio. Usually we will scope out some areas to shoot or ask you if you have a favorite place that you would love to be photographed in. You can bring more than one outfit if you would like, or just hang out in the same thing for the time of the shoot. There are no additional charges for wardrobe changes or anything like that...
8. We will organize with you how you would like your day to flow. Some people like to have portraits done before the ceremony, some like them done in between the wedding and the reception. We are very flexible and can accommodate your schedule
9. A typical day might look something like this:
• We will show up and shoot some pre-ceremony shots. The church, the bride getting ready, the guys getting ready, details, people showing up, etc
• The ceremony will start and depending on if photography is allowed at your venue, we will shoot the ceremony; the ring exchange, the kiss, the walk down the aisle, people watching, etc. (please do check with your venue to make sure photography is allowed).
• Casual portraits; Families, bridal party and the bride and groom by themselves.
• Wedding Photojournalism; After the casual portraits we typically will spend the rest of the day capturing moments and details as we see them. Throughout the day we are always looking for the moments that make the day what it is. Depending on how long you have booked us, and how many photographers you have booked, we will capture as much as we can in the time we have.
10. After the wedding we will go through all the photos, get rid of duplicates, edit the whole batch for color, exposure and contrast corrections. We will pick some to process in black and white, and have some in color. These images will then get burned to a DVD and uploaded to our online proofing system.
11. If the package you have selected comes with an album we will create an album pre-design of what we think are the best images from the day. The images used here will be pro-retouched and enhanced to really make them pop. From the album pre-design we will work with you to make sure the book is exactly how you want it. Once the book is approved we will get it printed and bound.
12. Your online proofs will be available approximately 4-6 weeks after your wedding and will remain online for 6 months after your wedding day. Any prints ordered from our proofing site will be pro-retouched before printing. You will get a unique username and password for your personal gallery of images, and you can share this login information with friends and family.
13. Along with your DVD of proofs you will get written permission to use the photos for whatever you might need to use them for. This includes making your own prints, at your location of choice.
14. Anything you order online will be edited and sent to you.

That is pretty much the whole thing. Any ideas that you have are also welcome and we can work them in to your day, or spend time with you before your day to make a custom idea happen. Let us know and we can create a custom quote for you if your idea does not fit into one of our packages or enhanced packages with a la carte items added.
